Two of Hip Hop's finest groups are getting in on the Instagram catalog battles. Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony announced on Monday (April 27) that he'd be squaring up against Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul this Thursday (April 30).

"This Thursday 5pm Pacific, 8pm Eastern time," Bone wrote in his caption. "Instagram Live Celebrating over 50 combined years of hits. Limited edition Collab merch available. Share share share, don't miss this celebration!"

Krayzie Bone and DJ Paul join a long list of high-profile IG Live battles during quarantine. On Monday (April 20), Teddy Riley and Babyface raked in over 500,000 viewers despite sustained technical difficulties. Before that, DJ Premier and RZA treated Hip Hop fans in a battle of the producers, while Lil Jon and T-Pain supplied undeniable classics as well as unreleased material. For now, it sounds like Bone Thugs vs. Three 6 won't be part of the Verzuz series started by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.

3 6 has the better discography but Bone Thugs classics might hit higher.

Didn't these two groups want to legit murder each other back in the day. All over who did the fast rap style better. I remember reading about their beef a long ass time ago. Heard all the disses etc etc. People clowned on Bone for being soft but they legit robbed and shot people on the regular before they got on.

As a old head it's crazy to see people who legit wanted each other dead working on shit like this together. That's good I guess.

Also I'm saying Bone wins this, too many hard hitting tracks on their first 3 albums (Faces of Death, Creepin on ah come up and E99) + songs with Eazy E, Biggie and Pac.

They did but they killed that beef a long time ago too. Even collabed on some songs I think.

Bone will probably take this one but I definitely enjoy both.

If they bring in Project Pat in 3 6 wins it for me lol.

LOL @ the thought of a "Three 6 Mafia" even existing anymore. Should have guessed it'll be just DJ Paul. They do have the better discography in this for sure.

They've been collaborating as far back as 98/99. I think DJ Paul and Krayzie specifically have been pretty friendly for a long time now

Bone will probably win because their peak in popularity was much higher than Three 6 but by sheer volume (and I like Bone) Paul could probably drown them in hype shit and crazy posse tracks. In the end I think it'll be pretty even.

Only thing that could ruin the fun is if Paul mysteriously doesn't play any stuff with Juicy on it and ignoring tracks from the solo albums.

They stopped beefing and started collaborating ages ago. Krayzie Bone was on Project Pat's first album in 1999?

Also Three Six will kill this, WAY more classic material.

I think that was Tommy Wright III who wanted to murder Bone Thugs if they ever step foot in Memphis

If we talking discographies are we also counting Mo Thugs, Krayzie and Bizzy's solos cause if so it's a landslide for BTNH

They deserve it. I still love how tickled John Stewart was at their acceptance speech

I remember this beef when I was little. 3-6 was saying bone took their style (they used to be fast rappers). Bone were saying the same thing. Clearly 3-6 won in the end since they are still relevant. They had to completely evolve their style but you can't stay relevant for decades sticking to a gimmick you were using in the 90s.

Still their first album (which doesn't appear to exist according to the internet) and E.1999 are classics. It really pisses me off that they've basically erased the original Crossroad from history though. E.1999 was rereleased with tha crossroads replacing the original and it's a task to find the original even on YouTube.

I think Bone has more individual classics than 666. It's a tossup between which one gets me more hype though:

I think Bone Thugs have the more classic 'stand out' pop culture hits with Crossroads, Thuggish Ruggish, 1st of tha month etc. but the 3 6 discography is crazy.

I think they were influenced more than influencing. Their early stuff was fast rapping with some sort of macabre twist at times. Then at some point you can tell they started to embrace the fact that they were southern rappers and began taking cues from what southern rappers had already been doing and pretty much abandoned their tongue twisting style.

I hate to say it but they're gonna slaughter Bone :\

Starting at :29 seconds..... they already have a playlist:

I love Bone Thugs but 3 6 take this easily. Probably, quietly, the most influential hip hop group of all time.

Dj Paul and juicy j are easily the most underrated producers in hip hop history. They shaped so many different sounds in hip hop. They had a crazy amount of influence that most people don't realize. 3 6 better production and longevity but bone had the bigger hits.

3 6 for me easily. Bone seemed like they had more hits though, so idk who takes it.
