The Hill's Prescription Diet Soft Baked Dog Treats are formulated for dogs on the k/d diet.
Our pets are potentially ill. We don't need to know the "minimum" amounts of protein, potassium & PHOS, why don't the labels tell us the MAXIMUM amounts that are in the cans? or per oz? Thanks.

At the moment, these recipes aren't tested for the maximum percent. They're formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by AAFCO.
How many ounces of K/D canned food per feeding daily for a 12 pound dog.

A dog weighing 12 pounds should receive between 1 - 1 1/2 12.5 ounce cans. Adjust feeding amounts as necessary to maintain optimal weight. If you are unsure, we recommend asking your veterinarian.

My picky eater loves this food!
My Oreo was diagnosed with a renal disease last week. He is a picky eater and I was worried about what to feed him. The doctor recommended either Hills or Royal Canin. He likes wet foods and thank God for this food; he absolutely loves it. He likes this beef flavor more than the chicken flavor. This is a life saver.

Tuna the dogs review
60lb pittie recently diagnosed with kidney disease, seems to enjoy it, waiting for blood work in the coming months to see if it's helping, he is not a picky eater, however, he seems be hungrier which is a good sign from the food since the reviews from others are that their dogs ARE picky and have difficulty getting them to eat it. Cons: it stinks lol but I usually just light a candle lol

My dog loves this!
I was a little worried that my little boy who has Polycystic Kidney Disease which has put him into the early stages of kidney failure, wouldn't like the prescription food. Especially after hearing some opinions from other dog owners. Well he loves it! Although a lower protein diet it is still hearty enough to satisfy. Definitely recommend!

My Lily loves it
I was so afraid moving from regular diet to a low protein diet would be hard on Lily as I read that many dogs found it unpalatable. She loves it. I mix it in with her dry dog food and she looks forward to it at every meal

Changed the life of my dog!
My senior was diagnosed with Kidney failure last year and we had to put him on his prescription diet. There aren't many options for wet food but this one is great and he loves it. His overall health has improved immensely! He used to be thirsty all the time, couldn't drink enough water and since changing his diet, that has subsided. He also used to pass gas constantly and it was horrific. Something awful was brewing in his tummy when he ate non prescription foods. This has cured that as well. Of course it is wildly expensive, like, I can NOT believe how expensive this food is…but we love our dogs and we will do whatever it takes to keep them healthy and happy!

Sophie actually loves the food
Finally a food my Husky will eat. I've tried numerous brands/flavors. Sophie turned her nose up and walked away. She's now required to eat Hill KD because of kidney issues. So thankful she likes both the beef and chicken.

Happy puppy
My puppy has to have the K/D and doesn't like the chicken. He loves this beef and it's very hard to find. Thank goodness chewy has it and I received it so quick. He's a happy eater now.

Good for renal diet, but
So my dog has been diagnosed with CKD. And we had to switch over to a renal diet. Unfortunately my dog hates it. at times she refuses to eat completely. I wish there was something more palatable for her. It really has me asking about quality of life vs this strict miserable way to live. Thankful she is not symptomatic and this was an incidental finding. but I need to find something that will meet her daily caloric needs. I've have to look into veterinary/nutritionist to assist in finding something a solution.

Kidney diet by Hills
An outstanding mixture of ingredients! My fussy little "ill" Terrier woofed this down immediately.This is significant because Kidney disease can cause a serious loss of appetite. However, not any more with this product! We are very pleased with the qualitly & texture of this product.
